Born on July 10, 1983, in Tehran, Iran the actress standing at 5' 6½" (1.69 m) tall started perusing her acting career at the early age of 6. It was at the age of 14 that the Iranian flower bloomed beautifully. Her first lead role was at the age 14 in The Pear Tree, which made her the recipient of the Best Actress from the international section of the Fair film festival, immediately making her one of the stars of the Iranian Film Industry.
Making Landmarks
Farahani has played in more than 15 films, most of which have been screened or awarded at international film festivals. Her movie Rasool Mollagholi Poor's M for Mother (2006), was a huge success in Iran. This movie was chosen to represent Iran for the Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars Awards in 2008. In addition to this, she is a member of the international jury at the 63rd Locarno Film Festival in 2010. Now, that is a landmark that will make the Iranians proud for sure.
Rahavard or Golshifteh?
Her name "Golshifteh" was not accepted by the people as a proper name, so the name "Rahavard" was chosen as an "official" first name for her. Well, believe it or not, “Rahavard Farahani” was on the way but went into the detour. So “Golshifteh” still rules.
Golshifteh Farahani is the Daughter of actor/theater director Behzad Farahani and sister of actress Shaghayegh Farahani. Her mother artist named Fahimeh Rahimnia. Not a known face, however.
The vivid actress is fluent in English, French and Persian. Only this much? No, Some knowledge of Arabic and Kurdish too. So, all we can say now is WOW!!

She lives in Paris, France with her Australian husband Christos Dorje Walker whom she had been dating in 2015. That, however, certainly doesn’t end the list of our Iranian maiden who’s been a part of a lot of boy's glorious lives.
She was on the marriage list of Amin Mahdavi form 2004 to 2013 until they Divorce for no reason at all. Hmm, a little fussy, ain't she? So, even though we would go and ask her the reasons for the breakup, she would reply “We did what made us happy”. So, she’s happy and so are we.

Farahani is an avid music lover. Golshifteh, who started studying music and playing the piano at the age of five, later entered a music school in Tehran where she learned to be frequent in piano and other musical instruments. The ROCK GIRL as her peers used to call her formerly. Her underground rock band "Kooch" got the first prize at the 2nd Tehran Avenue Underground Rock Festival in 2003. The irony, however, is that Rock music and women singing are banned in Iran. So, not so awesome is it? She better leave this, did she?
NO, not the hobby but she left the place. Yes, she ditched her country to peruse her hobby of becoming ROCKING FARAHANI! So, since leaving Iran, she has continued her music career as well. She has teamed up with another bird from the same nest, exiled Iranian musician, Mohsen Namjoo. So, they blasted out their topnotch album Oy which was released in October 2009.
It’s not all about acting she exists. In addition to the screen, Golshifteh is involved in environmental activities; she has also become an ambassador for fighting tuberculosis in Iran. In Iran, she has become the mother of homeless and time and again she has led to gender equality movements in Iran. Hence, she has been a Mhysa (motherly figure) to the Iranians and a leader.
A totally clean person? Maybe, Maybe not
Even the MOON HAS DARK SPOTS!!! Why wouldn’t she have as well?? In January of 2012, reports came out that Golshifteh won’t be welcome in her homeland. This was because she posed nude in the French Madame Figaro. The Daily Telegraph reported that officials told Golshifteh that Iran doesn't need stars and artists like she and she should peruse her services elsewhere. WHY?? Hmm, maybe a bad example to the little ones around.
Well, she in dispute a lot of dispute. A picture from the shoot on her social media led to lively debate about her behavior. So, better watch out dear. You would wanna be the Rocking one and not the Wrecking one.
